One of the arrangements was a very brassy, big band style arrangement. The final arrangement was the one that just "felt right." Contrary to the report in several books, there is no need to correct Barbra on feeling that it was "Ava Gardner singing" on the "Show Boat" Soundtrack Album. Although Ava was dubbed in the final film print, it is her vocal on the Soundtrack Album. - Stevie Wonder plays harmonica on "Can't Help Lovin' That Man." - "Somewhere" was released on a 7" single in edited form (4:32). - Two singles were released from the album, "Somewhere" and "Send In The Clowns." - A music video was released for "Somwhere." William Friedken directed the video. This is Barbra's only music video to be commecrially released. It is on the video cassette "Putting It Together: The Making of The Broadway Album." - Unreleased tracks from this album include "Shall We Dance/Hello Young Lovers," "Home," "Being Good Isn't Good Enough," "An Unusual Way," "I Know Him So Well," and "Show Me." "I Know Him So Well" was later released on "Just for the Record..." in 1991. - The album reached Number 1 on the Billboard Music Charts in November of 1985.
